Email supportCommon questions
- Will my license open at a check station with no signal?
- Yes. That's the whole point of Mend. Once a license is on your phone, everything a game warden needs to see — the details, the photo, the PDF, and the scannable barcode — works fully offline. No bars, no Wi-Fi, no problem.
- How do I add a license?
- Snap a photo of your paper or PDF license, or import a PDF you already have. Mend reads the key fields for you — state, license number, holder, and expiration — and you confirm they're right before saving. The original stays on your phone.
- What does Mend cost, and what do I get for free?
- Storing a license for one state is free. To keep licenses from more than one state in your wallet, Mend is a subscription — $6.99 for your first year, then $9.99 a year. Your offline license view is never locked behind the subscription: a license you've already saved always opens.
- I already paid. How do I restore my subscription on a new phone?
- Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to buy it, open Mend's settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Apple restores your subscription — you won't be charged again. If it doesn't come back, email us and we'll help sort it out.
- How do the renewal reminders work?
- Mend schedules reminders on your phone ahead of each license's expiration date, so you renew before you're standing at the water with an expired license. Reminders are on-device — they fire even with no signal, and there's no account or server involved. Turn them on when Mend asks.
- Will my licenses move to a new phone?
- Yes, as long as iCloud is turned on. Mend keeps your license records and their photo and PDF originals in your private iCloud, so signing in on a new phone with the same Apple ID brings your wallet with you. There's no separate Mend account to create or password to remember.
- How do I delete a license?
- Open the license and choose to delete it. That removes the record and the stored photo or PDF from your phone and your iCloud. Deleting is permanent, so make sure you don't still need it.
- Do I need an account to use Mend?
- No. Mend has no account and no password. Your licenses live on your phone, and anything that backs up or syncs does so through your own private iCloud. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.
